Case study

Business lends its support to Coronavirus effort

Many businesses across Berkshire have come together to help with the nation’s response to COVID-19 and the need to increase production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Berkshire Growth Hub business, CREAT3D,  loaned some of their 3D printers to Cisco in Reading, so they can produce protective face shields under tight safety conditions.

CREAT3D, which provides additive manufacturing solutions (i.e. everything 3D printing), is also advising manufacturing firms on how to think differently and develop the flexibility to adjust some of their current resources to make PPE or COVID-19 related equipment. Being able to open up new market opportunities by adjusting part (or all) of their assembly, production lines or manufacturing processes can create new revenue streams for manufacturers. CREAT3D are helping UK manufacturers to incorporate 3D printers to reduce their costs, improve performance, and streamline processes whilst providing the ability to quickly respond to changing markets, and reduce reliance on global supply chains.
